Performance

The following estimated performance table is reproduced from the draft WFCAM Users' Manual, quoting only the values for average sky brightness conditions. This revised estimate (Aug 2004) is based on laboratory measurements of the throughput of the fully-assembled instrument, prior to shipping to Hawaii. The quoted sensitivities are the Vega magnitudes of a point source yielding a 5sigma detection in a 2" diameter aperture in 40s integration and 0.6" seeing. For a different integration time add 1.25log(t1/t2). Note that these are some 0.5mag. less deep than assumed in the science case, but similar to values posted here in May 2003.
